Terminal
at Heathrow
Airport... Please note that Air Seychelles
arrivals
and departures flights operate out of
Terminal
2 at Heathrow.
Note to
all passengers: do not
forget to re confirm your
return flight at least
72 hours before the flight.
Enhanced security can take time, so please be
patient with any additional personal and luggage searches and
please carry only one piece of hand luggage.
Allow for increased security. Before departing for the airport please
check your flight is on time and confirm what time your airline requires
you to check-in. As a general guideline, plan to arrive at the airport
two hours prior to scheduled Air Seychelles departure.
Shops, restaurants and bars are open as normal and all purchases can
be carried on board your aircraft, although larger items may have to
go in the hold of the aircraft.
Packing advice
Please keep hand luggage
to a minimum.
Ensure that you have a
valid passport and relevant visas in your hand luggage.
Sharp items are not allowed
in hand luggage - they should be packed in your hold luggage
for checking-in. Remember people with sharp items in hand
luggage could be liable to prosecution and will delay the
security process for everyone else. Please note that any
sharp items found will be confiscated and confiscated items
can not normally be returned to you.
Keep electronic and electrical
items to a minimum and please bear with us as we may need
to take a little longer to screen these items
Do not gift wrap presents
as they may have to be unwrapped by security staff or customs.
You are likely to experience more security
checks and see more armed police. This is for your safety so
your co-operation with searches would be appreciated.
Please make sure you keep your baggage with you at all times and alert
any member of airport staff to any unattended package.
Never look after baggage belonging to other people or carry anything
onto the aircraft for someone else.
Boarding procedures
Your boarding card will
be inspected by airport security before you enter the departure
lounge.
You will be required to
go through security search, where your hand baggage (including
handbags cameras, mobile phones, computers and calculators,
etc.) will be passed through an x-ray machine and may also
be searched by hand, supported by explosives trace detection
equipment.
The archway metal detector,
which all passengers pass through, is safe for pregnant women
and passengers with heart pacemakers. However, if you have
any concerns you can request a hand search.
Some passengers and/or
flights may be subject to specific or additional security
measures at security search or at the gate room, including
hand search, supported by explosives trace detection equipment.
We appreciate your co-operation and understanding with these
requirements.
One of the duties carried
out by security staff is the removal of any items that may
endanger passengers on the aircraft. The most frequently
confiscated items are pen-knives, scissors and multi-tools.
To avoid unnecessary delays, please do not attempt to board
any aircraft carrying these items. Click here for more information.
DO NOT pack the following
items in your hand luggage:
Toy/replica guns (metal
or plastic)
Catapults
Household cutlery
Knives with blades of any
length
Razor blades
